2021 Honda Accord
Space and
luxury are two aspects that immediately come to mind while looking at the Honda
Accord, which has been a cult classic since 1976. It often gives the sensation
of travelling in a much more luxurious car than what it is. The refreshed 2021
variant of this sedan is now available with two engine options.
Trim Levels:
Honda has
provided three trims of the 2021 Accord. These are LX, Sport, and Sport Special
Edition. With this vehicle, it seems as though the shrinking market of family
sedans received a shot in the arm.
Exterior Design
Kinetic body
lines and sleek wheel designs make the 2021 Honda Accord stand apart from its
competition. At the front, the grille gets small chrome accents, which is
different from previous years. The headlight’s design is also different, with
different technology to illuminate in a wider manner. LED fog lights have been
made available here. The Sport trim gets 19-inch contrast alloy wheels.
ORVM’s are
painted black. Very few changes can be seen at the rear. A blacked out spoiler
and a black shark fin antenna are new at the back.
Interior Design:
The door lock
comes with a sensor, making it easy to unlock. Changes on the inside are
subtle. The Sport trim comes with fully leather seats. Door materials have
leatherette on them. A 12-way power adjustable seat is available on all trims
of the 2021 Honda Accord. Material quality is high, just like the previous
years. Leatherette padding can be seen across the center console.
Push button
start is available as standard on all trim levels. A 7-inch dashboard display
and an analog speedometer can be seen. Rear seatbelt reminder has been made
available for the 2021 Honda Accord.
Storage space
inside the center console is quite generous. Two cup holders are also present
here. 2 USB ports and 2 charging outlets are also present. A reverse camera is
available on all trims.
In terms of
technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available on all trim levels.
Navigation is available on a few trims. An 8-speaker sound system is available
in the Sport trim. Dual zone climate control is available inside this family
sedan.
Honda has
been very generous in terms of space in the rear seats. A phenomenal 40 inches
of rear legroom and 37 inches of rear headroom are available in the second row.
16.7 cubic feet of rear cargo space is available, which is more than the Toyota
Camry and the Nissan Altima.
Engine and Performance:
The 2021
Honda Accord comes with a superbly comfortable suspension. Sound inside the
cabin is also comparatively lesser than the Toyota Camry. Honda has not changed
much about driving dynamics of this vehicle, which is what most drivers will
love. Two engine options are available:
1)
A 1.5 liter turbocharged Base engine with 193 hp
and 192 lbs.-ft of torque, which can be found in all the trims.
2)
A 2.0 liter turbocharged engine with 252 hp and
273 lbs.-ft of torque, available in the Sport trim and above.
Both engines
are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Safety Features:
Honda Sensing
Suite in this vehicle has received an update to include an advanced kind of
Cruise Control system. Safety features include:
·
Adaptive Cruise Control
·
Lane Keeping Assist
·
Automated Emergency Braking
